Laura J. Fulks, DVM Dr. Fulks grew up in Huntington, attending Cabell County schools and graduating from Huntington East High School. After receiving her BS degree from Marshall University, she studied Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University, where she was awarded her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Married with three active kids, Dr. Fulks amazingly balances a busy family life with her intense focus on the care of your most-loving companions. For "fun", she enjoys spending time with her kids, reading, walking her dogs, and spending time outdoors. Dr. Fulks has been practicing veterinary medicine and veterinary surgery in Huntington since 1997. A loving pet owner herself, she knows that your animals are more than just "pets"---they're family!!! And she knows that the human-animal bond is not only special, but sacred. With that as her focus, she demonstrates everyday what it means to provide expert care for the life you share. Did you know . . . that Dr. Fulks married her high school sweetheart?
Bert Fulks, Office Manager As you've probably guessed, Bert belongs to Dr. Fulks (as he has since high school!). Bert is a Huntington native and graduate of Huntington East High School and Marshall University. In his "spare time" you may find him coaching baseball, teaching Sunday School or playing music at FUMC, or simply sharing his love of sports, music and movies with his kids. Bert's goal is to make you a RAVING FAN of South Huntington Animal Hospital. If there's EVER any reason you're not able to refer us to your family and friends, let Bert know and he'll do whatever it takes to make it right! Did you know . . . that Bert's first career was teaching World History, Sociology, and Psychology at Dublin Coffman High School in Dublin, Ohio?
Leslie Webb, Client Care Coordinator With SEVERAL years of experience in veterinary medicine, Leslie's able to conquer just about any task at South Huntington Animal Hospital. And since she's been with us since day one, Leslie is an integral part who we are and what we do. With a crazy household that includes two kids, an outlawed dog, a dumpster cat, a horse that thinks he's a lap-dog, and whatever other critter-of-the-month that finds its way into her home, we think Leslie comes to work for a chance to maintain her sanity. Right, Leslie? Right . . . . ?

Courtney Adkins, Client Care / Veterinary Assistant Courtney is Wayne County gal with a little bit of everything in her background---from music to hardware and tools to banking . . . all the way to her current studies: She's now working through her Veterinary Technician program to become a licensed vet tech. After an MIA-stint for maternity leave, she keeps reminding us that she's back. Really. She's back. A mom of two and the wife of a Wayne County football coach, she doesn't get rattled too easily. Unless it's spiders. But we'll keep trying the occasional shock-therapy to help with that.
Larry Byrd, Client Care / Veterinary Assistant Larry has been working in the veterinary field for several years; so, naturally, he's got several animals in his family . . . and he fits right in . . . with them . . . and us . . . and . . . well, you know . . . . With his experience, Larry can handle just about anything we throw at him. And though he takes his job very seriously, Larry always finds a way to make us laugh. Whether he's assisting the doctor, working the front desk, or monitoring patients in our treatment center, you can count on Larry to provide you and your loved ones with the best possible care.
Alisha Jackson, Licensed RVT Alisha came highly-recommended to us with a Veterinary Technician degree from The Bradford School in Columbus, Ohio. Having completed this AVMA-accredited program, Alisha has also passed the national RVT exam and is fully licensed as a Registered Veterinary Technician. Though Bert gives her a hard time about her many suggestions and ideas, Alisha is always considering ways to do something different and better . . . which means she's always thinking about how to take better care of you and your loved ones!

Olive Oil, Chief Gravity Engineer When she first came to us, she was skinny and scraggly and plain ol' UGLY. So we named her after Popeye's girlfriend. Now she's all grown up . . . and more like Bluto than Olive Oil. Not-so-lovingly referred to as "Princess", Olive does whatever she wants, whenever she wants. She may greet you at the counter, or she may hang out in the hallway to bless your pets with her prom-queen presence, or she might not bother to even wake up. On a good day, she'll let you pet her. But don't get too enthusiastic, because once she's had enough . . . she's had enough.
